The goalie is the smallest problem we have. Biggest problem is defense now. With Helfer there is another top defender out (Borgatello is done too).

Today Hofer is going to make his national team debut if he gets playing time.

Italy will loose again without a question. The A pool is just way to strong for Italy and the "new" Italos they have are just not mean enough for international competition, there is no comparison to the old-timers we once had in our national team.


Anyways after watching most teams IMO the best teams are Sweden and Russia with Finland following. Canada didn't impress me so far but the usually tend to get better with the duration of the tournament.

Yes heard about that. Pretty terrible but also impressive how fare medicine has gone.

He was one of the real "Italos" we once had. Now we just have some soft lazy guys that aren't much better then the italian-born players.

Finland-Canada game is about to start. Should be tough physical game and ofcourse Finland will win 4-2

2-0 First period was all Finland.
3-3 After second. Canada is back.
Canada won it 5-3. Last goal in empty net. Good lesson to team Finland.

Nice win by Canada against the Finns coming back from a 3-1 deficit.

Russia is leading the Swedes 6-3 in the 3rd. Malkin is starting to dominate the tournament showing his season in the NHL was no fluke.

7-3 win for Russia. This year they have something of that old CCCP teams. Relentless working attitude and that was what they missed sometimes in the last couple of years.

Incredible 5 point night for Malkin. Not a record but in todays game pretty rare at a WC tournament. Great game also from Yemelin. He sucked Franzen into some penalties and played a very solid physical game even scoring a goal.

Little bitch once put on Canada´s jersey and played at 1992 olympics. I see im every summer trying to pick up girls in Prague´s bars and being extremely annoying in the process.

The Belarusian Ice Hockey Association announced that goalkeeper Andrei Mezin decided to leave the team.

Meanwhile the brothers Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn of the Nashville Predators have arrived and practised with the team for the first time on Friday afternoon. They are announced to play on a line with Alexei Kalyuzhny in the crucial game against Slovakia on Saturday at 12:15.

i hope someone decapitates janne pesonen for finland...that dive was one of the worst ever and the dumbass ref bought it hook, line and sinker. absolutely pathetic.

i guess a slash breaking a stick on a scoring play isn't a penalty either...i guess the ref wants finland to win today though they don't deserve it.

OV and Semin on their way to Washington to do the packing, then heading to Worlds to help Russia. They will arrive wednesday and thursday they will be playing the quarter finals
