2012 iihf world championship
Here we can post about 2012 IIHF World Championship which is being held in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden, 4 to 20 May 2012.
Swedes sharing the tournament hosting with Fins is a bit funny because these two teams met in the final last year and I heard they ´´love´´ each other. Fins won the final 6-1 and Czechs won bronze medal game against Russia 7-4. Here are the starting groups: Group S: Russia Sweden Czech republic Germany Norway Latvia Dennmark Italy Group H: Finland Canada USA Switzerland Slovakia Belarus France Kazachstan Feel free to post your countries rosters when it will be known. And who will win the gold medal this year? I think France or Kazachstan

Rick Nash, John Tavaras, Jeff Skinner, and some Oilers should be on team Canada.

Czech team will be put together from NHLers and players from the Czech league and KHL like always. From the NHLers, these people are possible as they dont advance to playoffs:
Winnipeg: Ondřej Pavelec Carolina: Jaroslav Špaček, Jiří Tlustý Montreal: Tomáš Kaberle, Tomáš Plekanec Calgary: Roman Horák Edmonton: Ladislav Šmíd, Aleš Hemský Columbus: Václav Prospal If Colorado doesnt make the playoffs, Jan Hejda is possible for the Worlds.

Hell he would be there best player. Teemu still got game, I really hope he comes back next season. He leads his team in points, a team who has last seasons Hart trophy winner.

Getzlaf, Perry, Cam Ward, Tavares, Evander Kane, Jordan Eberle, Phaneuf and Bouwmeester have all said yes to the canadian team.
The only player saying no was Jarome Iginla. |

No Duchene for Canada? T think it´s because he´s still not 100% after this years injuries. Last year he went and this year he would have fun playing against Stastny.
I wonder if Landeskog plays for Swedes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The NBC Sports Network will televise at least 13 games of the International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship, May 4-20, in Helsinki, Finland, and Stockholm, Sweden, including all Team USA games, all four quarterfinal games, a semifinal matchup and the gold-medal game. Team USA opens play on Friday, May 4, with a preliminary-round game against France.
All Team USA games will air live on NBC Sports Network, with the exception of its preliminary-round game on May 5, which will be aired later that night on delay, and a potential appearance in the gold-medal game (same-day delay). NBC Sports Network will televise at least one semifinal game and the gold-medal game (same-day delay), regardless of whether or not Team USA is playing in the contest. "It's terrific to have the visibility for the Men's World Championship in the United States that comes with the games being televised on NBC Sports Network," said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. "Their coverage last year was outstanding and we look forward to that continuing this year with expanded coverage." Last year, NBC Sports Network (formerly VERSUS) televised the IIHF Men's World Championship for the first time, and this year will air additional coverage, including all seven USA preliminary-round games and all four quarterfinal games live. NBC Sports Network will also produce pre-game, intermission and post-game updates from the network's NHL studios in Stamford, Conn., providing viewers with expert analysis of the games before, during and after the action.
