I don't get it. The season hasn't even started and there's suspensions?

Is it failed physicals or something?

Could that be for guys who signed elsewhere or "signed" and then didn't report to camp?

Matt Caranci, presumably after Niagara suspended operations, was taken off league suspension and is currently playing for Danbury.

Other players wherabouts:

Danbury
C Alec Kirschner (Elmira - ECHL)

Danville
G Peter Skoggard (Augusta - SPHL)
D David Inman (Laredo - CHL)

New Jersey
Leland Fidler (Mississippi - SPHL)

In most of these cases, it would appear the players were signed or traded for, but declined to report or signed in other leagues. Rather than release them, their teams put them on suspension, which retains their FHL rights. Kirchner was recalled as part of Danbury's affiliation with Elmira, but they must not expect him back soon.

ya it about roster space. .if you suspend a guy he doesnt count against your 18 man roster or 20 man what ever the heck it is now. 18 plus 2 practice squad guys or something..so if a guy is gone to anohter league and you dont wanna release him because then he is free to sign elsewhere in the FHL. this way you maintain his rights but he doesnt cound against your active roster...

also Mahfouz served the first official league suspention last night. 1 game i for his game misconduct in the last few minute in season open.

Four more team suspensions out of Danville, and Mahfouz has recieved his 2nd suspension of the year, presumably for this incident at Danville Sunday:

Quote:
Akwesasne - Ahmed Mahfouz - (Fighting Major), 5 min, 20:00
Akwesasne - Ahmed Mahfouz - (Unsportsmanlike Conduct Disqualification), 10 min, 20:00
Akwesasne - Ahmed Mahfouz - (Attempt to Injure Match), 10 min, 20:00

Was anyone at Brooklyn Vs. Cape Cod that can make sense of this?

Quote:
Cape Cod - Corey Bellamy - (Boarding Major), 5 min, 11:43
Cape Cod - Corey Bellamy - (Boarding Major), 5 min, 11:46
Brooklyn - Andrew Scampoli - (Roughing), 2 min, 16:53
Brooklyn - Jarrett Rush - (Fighting (Instigator)), 2 min, 16:53
Brooklyn - Jarrett Rush - (Fighting Major), 5 min, 16:53
Brooklyn - Jarrett Rush - (Fighting Game Misconduct), 10 min, 16:53
Cape Cod - Garrett Peters - (Boarding), 2 min, 16:53
Cape Cod - Garrett Peters - (Unsportsmanlike Conduct), 2 min, 16:53
Cape Cod - Corey Bellamy - (Boarding Major), 5 min, 16:53
Cape Cod - Corey Bellamy - (Third Man In Disqualification), 10 min, 16:53
Bellamy's suspension should be for the 3rd man in DQ, but how could he compile 3 boarding majors in 5 minutes? Somebody can't do their job.

Tell me about it. It's not just in Cape Cod, it's a few teams that are having a real tough time with the box scores. CC, Vermont, Danville....

I log the fights for the FHL here for our database and I can't even begin to tell you how big of a pain in the ass it's been so far.

How hard is it for whoever fills out the score sheet to write the player# and penalty in correctly as the referee tells it to them.

Does the SPHL have this tough of a time with stats? A little extra attention to detail on the web would go a long way for the Federal League. Accurate stats, a website that didn't look like a 14 year old made it in intro to web design, and teams actually announcing signings (ie: Colin Rice appearing on Danville a few days ago, skipping the transaction wire and any press release) would at least make the league look a bit more legitimate to the public.

In all fairness the SPHL has had a few yrs to work out the bugs. We've normally got 3-5 people at each game from the league keeping stats. Some are still slow to load but normally they're pretty quick, just give it some time it'll work itself out.

The bigger issue is the lack of attendance, they're got to pick it up or teams arent going to be able to hang around for long.

I feel that in today's market if your website looks like dogsh*t, that could be the deal breaker. Most people going to FHL games probably don't care about the transactons and stats too much but some of the team sites are brutal. Messy, cluttered and impossible to navigate formats, spelling and grammar errors in articles and press releases and a lack of information is only going to drive people away before they even show up.

Looks like Danville's Joe Pace got just a game for leaving the bench last night against Cape Cod:

Quote:
Danville - Joe Pace - (Fighting Major), 5 min, 6:32
Danville - Joe Pace - (Leaving Penalty Bench Game Misconduct), 10 min, 6:32
Danville - Joe Pace - (Fighting Disqualification), 10 min, 6:32
Danville - Joe Pace - (Fighting (Instigator)), 2 min, 6:32
And apparently two more Euro's have had enough of Danville, Robert Mazins and Michal Pastor go on indefinite team suspension.

Updated with the official suspension numbers from Danbury/Cape Cod last week, and added Ferazzoli's suspension. Big loss there for Brooklyn, he was their leading scorer with 26 points, tied for 10th in the league.
