Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has activated center Patrik Stefan from the injured reserve list.
Stefan, 26, was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 3 with a hip injury that forced him to miss the first two games of the season. He was scoreless in four preseason games with the Stars in 2006. The 6-2, 205-pound center was acquired by Dallas from Atlanta with
Jaroslav Modry in exchange for Niko Kapanen and a 2006 seventh round pick on June 24, 2006.
In 64 games with the Thrashers last season, Stefan scored 10 goals and added 14 assists for 24 points with 36 penalty minutes and a +3 rating. The number one overall pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by Atlanta has appeared in 414 career NHL games and registered 59 goals and 118 assists for 177 points with 148 penalty minutes.
