Under the current circumstances involving Pavel Datsyuk, I think they're getting him for somewhat of a bargain. But really though, it all depends on how many years are in his contract. My guess is that it's only a 1-year deal, which in other words, the Redwings are screwed...
EDIT: It appears that the Wings have most likely locked him up in a multi-year deal. Good signing by Detroit if this is the case. Unfortunately, though, they won't have Datsyuk all year long. Talk about a screw up on the part of Wings management.
