I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the 2 prospects the Flames got, but the key is the first round pick.
That pick in all likelihood will be a very late 1st round pick. Of course I'm not saying that isn't valuable but it's a far cry from a top pick. From all indications the two players Pittsburgh gave up aren't even close to being considered top prospects. At the end of the day they gave up very little for a player that could push them over the top. Calgary had to decline better offers on the table because of Iginla's personal preference. Based on that I think it's fair to say the Penguins won this trade rather easily. Maybe some day that will be proven otherwise, but I wouldn't count on it.
