If I can nitpick, the general consensus in local circles was that Chara wanted out of Ottawa; both sides were way apart, and Redden was the consolation prize. It wasn't one over the other. But yeah, I agree that list is pretty pathetic.
I said back in July that losing Carkner and Konopka in one fell swoop was going to suck huge balls for this team, and here it is. Neil's a decent scorer when he doesn't have to be the lone sheriff, and I don't think I've ever seen Zach Smith do anything but serve as a speedbag for someone else's fists.
