Great stuff in this thread. I'd run out of my thank you button if I tagged every post I wanted to. One thing I wanted to point out is the difference between the mentality of us fight fans then and now. Perhaps time heals wounds, but it seems like all the really nasty, wolfpack mentality, "code-breaking" stuff was celebrated, or at least accepted as part of the game back then. These guys were real MEAN mother f*ckers. Like bottles over the head in the bar mean. Now, every little stupid thing is scrutinized by every "new school" hockey fan on the block! Maybe it's the age of YouTube and 100 camera angles, but every extra little shove, poke, and whisper brings on a torrent of crying from one side or the other. In hockey more than any other sport, it seems. Take the Rinaldo-Crombeen fight from last week as a recent example. You could show that tape to anyone over the age of 30 a thousand times and they still wouldn't see anything wrong with it!
Great stories, great videos. Keep them coming.
