PRINCETON, N.J. – Dan Gendur of the
Orlando Solar Bears is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 24-30.
Gendur scored five of Orlando’s 10 goals last week, helping the Solar Bears to a 2-0-0 record.
The 25-year-old scored a shorthanded goal in the Solar Bears’ 2-1 win against Florida on Thursday and then scored a team record four goals, including one on the power play, in an 8-4 victory over the Everblades on Friday.
A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Gendur has nine points (6g-3a) in 10 games with the Solar Bears this season, and has tallied 19 points (10g-9a) in 29 games overall this season with Evansville and Orlando.
Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the seventh round (206th overall) of the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Gendur has 69 points (21g-48a) in 110 career ECHL games with Orlando, Evansville, Johnstown and Victoria. He has added two points (1g-1a) in 20 career American Hockey League games with Manitoba and Milwaukee.
