Belanger mauls Probert. Belanger is aggressive in this one. He starts off throwing 8 lefts in which 5 or 6 land. I think Probert is stunned by the assault from Belanger. Belanger switches to the rights throw about 6 with 3 or 4 of them landing. Probert is ducking to avoid the punches then Belanger switches back to the left and continues to throw at a furious pace landing some nice upper cuts. Then Belanger get Proberts jersey partially over his head. The linesman come in to separate the two combatants and Probert throws one or two punches. This is a clear and dominating win by Belanger.

I was at this game and what a disappointing showing from probie. My buddy and I were pretty much waiting for this fight to happen. Give probert credit-he had no problem giving the young guns their shot. But what a poor performance from probie. Belanger just took the fight to probie, switched hands and basically pitched a shutout. This may go down as one of probert's worst years. A couple of one sided losses to Brashear, getting dropped by morrisette(sp?) and this fight against Belanger. It made me think the end was near. He rebounded like a true champ the following year though.
