When you say it that way, that is what Canuck2 must have meant. That's the only way it makes sense. Of all children in the Western world who are killed by guns, 87% are in the United States. Not, as he said, 87% of all children in the Western world are killed by guns in the USA.

I agree that is is food for thought. I agree that gun violence is way too high. What I disagree with is that more regulations will stem that tide. The places with the strictest gun laws (Chicago, DC, NY) often have the highest murder rates by guns. Bottom line is that criminals don't care about laws.
