Like anybody else I have my opinions on everything about this. But re-reading about it this morning just has me fuming all over again. And half of the "fuming" is the completely ludicrous mis-information that's been spilling out in this one. I rarely watch news coverage or hit the "main" sources' websites except in cases like this. It's pretty sickening to read everything today that they got wrong yesterday. Latest being his mom probably WASN'T a teacher there. Glad they could get the body count right and shove microphones in kids faces though.

Also; a subject that gets way too far in to government control and politics serving a purpose in general for me to truly feel comfortable deciding on a set opinion given my big world beliefs; but gun control.... First and most importantly gun "control" is a lot different than gun "bans". Like gun "nuts" get lobbed in to a giant stereotypical group so do gun control advocates also get lobbed in to a giant stereotypical group. It isn't one or the other, there's middle ground.

I have many gun "nut" friends (moreso than not probably). I enjoy guns. I've never hunted, only shot recreationally (is that a word?). But I've never owned a gun just because of the expense of the hobby and me not being sold on the fact a machete/bat/tackle/disregardforownlife isn't good enough home defense in close quarters (and I've had a house I lived in robbed twice in my lifetime). But I damn well believe you should have a gun if you're a responsible adult that wants one.

I dunno it's really complicated and an essay-esque post on a hockey fights website is what I'm nearing if I go on, I dunno! I know that there's no ABSOLUTE solution any of us are comfortable with to stop ALL violent, muchless gun, crime. But simple logic dictates less guns in circulation, less guns criminals have access to... EVENTUALLY. Anything would be "grandfathered" in basically and not be a sweeping magical broom that erases everything before it. Hell you can even get really creepy/wacky/futuristic and start talking about the technology of fingerprint or mircochip ID as to where only the owner can fire the thing. Though I'd warn against more relying on technology to solve problems of human nature. There's middle ground basically is all I'm trying to say and it'll work over time.

The Swiss give Miltia issued assault rifles but control ammo. England bans most but probably has more melee weapon everyday violence than most. Pretty sure Mexico bans weapons and yeah that's working well... But being the USA and doing things the way we tend to do, we should be able to find our own version of something in between and unique. Really hate making it a issue this soon but it's a subject I've always been apathetic to but sure as hell can't stop thinking about now when I see "20 school children killed". The gun didn't kill the kids, the guy behind the gun did. And most gun control laws I'd remotely support wouldn't have stopped him. But there's something worth looking at here.
