Its pretty common knowledge in America atleast, that once a business gets to a billion plus in revenues, money is all they are concerned about. Last I checked, the 4 leagues are billion dollar businesses. Its also common knowlege, that once a firm wins a big case in their clients favor, other clients in similar predictiments will flock to them. Not really a conspiracy its just capitalism at its worst. Plus majority of the same fans that will bitch about it, are also the first ones to take people to court over money related issues. America is a money hungry, sue happy nation and this just proves it.
The players are also at fault since they insist on making 250 grand a year after taxes (other expenses too) at the minimum (in the NHL anyways), to play a goddamned kids sport for a "career." Thats not including free travel and 5 star hotels. They can go suck a dick as well. The only players who I would side with in a labor dispute, are the ones in the minor leagues making slightly more than average joe money.
