There was a bench-clearing brawl in Rochester between the Nighthawks and Amerks. Bob "Battleship" Kelly was on the Amerks, as was Wayne Morusyk, who had blood everywhere -- face, jersey everything. I think Gary Howatt was involved for New Haven. I was there as a teenager and was loving every minute of it. Must have taken a half-hour to restore order, fights all over the ice. Wondered if anyone remembers it ... or if by some longshot there's a video out there somewhere of it. I'd even love to see a box score.

Don't know about the brawl, but when I tracked down Battleship Kelly ( he was coaching New Trier high school in Chi) he told me that the best fight of his career was vs Howatt when Kelly was with Rochester ..he said it went on for what seemed like forever.
He also said he beat up a very green
Terry O'Reilly ..he didn't make much of it due to TO inexperience.
