As much as it pains some, we're witnessing the slow, quiet death of hockey. Sure, will the sport recover and return to some semblance of significance in the sports landscape? Of course. People need entertainment, and the National Hockey League is a Billion Dollar Machine.
But is this one of the final nails in the coffin of the sport on a grand scale? Yes. No question. For with each swing of the hammer, can any reverberations be felt?
