I'm glad you brought up Roman Gonzalez, completely forgot him.
El Chocolatito and Juan Estrada had their own war on the same card as Marquez/Viloria, that ended with Gonzalez being the UD winner (and rightfully so).
There was a round of the year candidate in the fight, and it was just an all out war for the last 3/4 of the fight. Loved every second of it.
However, Hawaiian Punch has a WBO mandatory with Milan Melindo ordered up, so the colossal unification bout with El Chocolatito will have to wait for now.
Some other news:
Andre Ward vs. Kelly Pavlik done for 1/26 on HBO in LA. Chris Arreola vs. Bermane Stiverne is going to be a co-feature on that card.
There is one hang up still, Pavlik doesn't want the fight in Cali at all. But, at this point, it doesn't appear as though he's going to get his wish with that. The deal is in place, all it's waiting for is a signature from Kelly.
