As far as Leaf momentum killers go, I'd say
Nick Kypreos was our last best candidate. Here's a look at some of his work.
Kypreos loses more blood in a game against the Hawks in 1996 than someone does while undergoing open heart surgery.
He tries to hit
Jim Cummins along the boards here when Cummins throws the ol' surprise elbow. Kypreos' face explodes and he lays on the ice a bloody f*cken mess. Later in the game he attempts to exact his revenge and fights Cummins. Again he ends up a bloody f*cken mess.
KYPREOS vs CUMMINS
During the same game (between catching that elbow and getting his "revenge") Kypreos decided to fight known punching bag
Cam Russell. They fight, and again Kypreos ends up a bloody f*cken mess.

Here he is actually winning a fight against Matthew Barnaby. Good for Kypreos right? Wrong, because even in winning he sucked and killed the Leaf's momentum. He broke his right leg in a few different places in the end when they fell. Had to be carried off the ice.
KYPREOS vs BARNABY
Great quote from Kypreos years later on the leg break: "I knew I was in trouble when I heard snap crackle pop and I wasn't eating a bowl of cereal."

Big
Francois Leroux had his choice between
Tie Domi and
Nick Kypreos on this night in 1997. Not surprising, he chose Kypreos. Also not surprising, Kypreos lost and was bleeding afterwards. Not sure which is worse, the left that drops Kypreos, or the right Leroux tags him with while he's down.

And of course the infamous
Ryan Vandenbussche encounter. Nothing sparks your bench better than watching a teammate get knocked out and lay motionless on the ice while blood comes out of every hole in their head.
