The Mississippi Surge has acquired left winger Branden Kosolofsky from the
Augusta RiverHawks in exchange for right winger Shawn Skelly.
Kosolofsky, who turned 23 on Sunday, is 6-foot-1, 175 pounds has had at least 35 points and 129 penalty minutes in each of the last two seasons with Augusta.
"I'm looking forward to the intangibles and energy Branden will bring to our team," Surge head coach Jeff Bes said. "He's a player that competes every night and every team in the league hates to play against."
In 2010-11, Kosolofsky had 19 goals and 33 assists for 52 points with 129 penalty minutes. Last season in 50 games, he had 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points and 146 penalty minutes. He has also played briefly in the Central Hockey League with the Laredo Bucks.
