PRINCETON, N.J. – Chad Costello of the Colorado Eagles is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 5-11. He also won the award for the week ending Dec. 11, 2011, and it is the second straight week an Eagle has been named Player of the Week, following Michael Forney last week.

Costello scored four goals and added three assists for seven points in three games last week as the Eagles swept a three-game series from Utah, extending their winning streak to five games.

After tallying two assists in a 10-1 win on Wednesday, the 26-year-old added a goal and an assist in a 6-3 victory on Friday and ended the week with a hat trick, including two power-play goals, in a 6-2 win on Saturday.

Costello, the reigning ECHL Most Valuable Player, leads the league with 23 points,17 assists, 13 power-play points and 10 power-play assists and is tied for second with eight goals.

A native of Johnston, Iowa, Costello has 99 points (35g-64a) in 61 career ECHL games with Colorado and Texas. He has also seen action in 19 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie, Springfield and Worcester, registering five assists.
