Stingrays Acquire Chris Langkow from Royals

North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has received forward Chris Langkow from the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations.

Langkow, 23, skated in nine games with the Royals this season scoring two goals and two assists for four points. Last season, the Vegreville, Alberta, native appeared in 16 games with the Alaska Aces netting 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and seven contests with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League grabbing five points (one goal, four assists). In 2010-11, Langkow lit the lamp 15 times with the Aces and added 21 assists for 36 points and helped the team capture the Kelly Cup with 11 points (eight goals, three assists) in 13 postseason games. He also represented the Aces in the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic in Bakersfield, California.
