To me an incident is Bob Probert popping prone Kevin Maguire on the side of the head while he was pinned on the ice. Tie Domi popping Ulf Samuelsson and flooring him out cold. Paul Holmgren and Terry O'Reilly popping a ref in two different "incidents" while trying to remove each from a fight. Tie Domi fighting a fan in the penalty box. Rick Rypien punching a fan on his way to the dressing room.

Those are incidents.

This, (Fotiu, Probert) is something that never happened. Same deal with Fotiu, Mcsorley twice when Fotiu was in Calgary.

So, I'm intrigued what is so special about this "nothing ever happened event" that invokes so much interest?

Some fair points Darius, this "incident" has been discussed much more than any of the other incidents that you mentioned. Since it had come up recently again, I finally decided to get the vcr fixed and review it. I knew I had it, so soon enough ...all will see it. In my opening post I mentioned "is that it?" I'm not making a big deal about it, whether you wanna call it an incident or not , makes no difference to me. However when you do see it you'll see that it is not like the Marty Mac incidents of shadow boxing , or other Fotiu happenings where they spar forever.....THE ONLY REASON THEY DIDN'T FIGHT WAS BECAUSE PROBERT DIDN'T FIGHT...had Fotiu been like Clark or Brown (who wouldn't have asked for an invitation) Probie would've been in trouble . His gloves and stick at his side ...defenseless really. Fotiu was ready to throw down no question about it. He didn't skip a beat..his gloves were off in record time. He reached out to grab Probie and Probie just glided backwards and Fotiu got the penalty. I won't comment on the "incident" where Fotiu challenged Probie in the AHL ( BIGJACK) . But I will tell you as a Probert fan I was furious ..I wanted him to shut the old bastid up . Same with the Carlson incident ...sooo close and yet sooo far. Whatever you call it , it gets the blood pressure up .

On another quick note...I had taped HL of the DET-TOR gm 7 88 and was surprised to see a fairly dirty high stick /hit by JK on Clark near the Tor bench..Clark didn't even look at JK. That was the series where JK shadowed Clark ... Clark was very quiet in that series. Cousins /friends or not.

Probert had such a great series in that one ( beat Gordie Howe's record for points in a playoff) Probie was everywhere , playing great , hammering anything in blue...ahhh the good old days.
