PRINCETON, N.J. – Artem Demkov of the
Elmira Jackals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 15-21.
Demkov scored three goals and added two assists in two games last week as the Jackals improved to 4-0-0 on the season.
The 23-year-old had two points (1g-1a) in a 4-2 win against Wheeling on Friday, and then added three points (2g-1a) in a 5-0 victory over the Nailers on Saturday.
Demkov leads the Jackals with four goals, and is tied for second on the team with six points.
A native of Minsk, Belarus, Demkov has 63 points (24g-39a) in 71 career games with the Jackals. He added eight points (4g-4a) in 10 games during the 2012 Kelly Cup Playoffs. He represented Belarus in the 2011 IIHF World Championships, and in the 2008 and 2009 World Juniors tournaments.
