People have to keep in mind that the frame-by-frame pictures are occurring at approximately 1/30th of a second. In other words, the individual pictures slow the action down and make the scene seem like its occurring over the course of perhaps minutes, but that bit that we're reviewing, from Cairns' looking away in the direction of Garth Snow
, to Purinton zooming in from Cairns' left and suckering him in the face before he has time to react or get his gloves completely off, occurred in about two seconds.
Do YOU deny that Cairns is looking away from Purinton at the instant he gets ambushed, or that both of Purinton's gloves are on the ice while Cairns' gloves are both on his hands?
- Cairns gloves were off when he got hit. Unless he randomly takes his gloves off on a regular basis this proves he knew something was about to go down.
- Not every fight starts with a square off. Purinton's first punch just happened to land on Cairns' glass jaw. If he missed then it would be completely ordinary and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
- The only reason you are upset about this is because it happened to an Islander.
- Purinton shouldn't have turtled in subsequent confrontations.
