So he then made these over the top rules for "staged" fighting. If the rule was only for players under the age of 18, I can understand. A player over 18 should be able to do whatever they damn well please on the ice as long as its not to intentionally hurt a player seriously.
With that said they are still kids, I would expect and understand there are more harsher rules on physical stuff compared to Pro leagues.
I think the player you are thinking about was 21 year old Don Sanderson .
He hit his head on the ice during a fight in a game on Dec.12 2008 and died three weeks later , he was playing for the Whitby Dunlops at the time ..
