Rockford, Ill.- The American Hockey League’s
Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with 23-WIFR, announced a partnership that will televise all 76 regular season and all additional postseason contests live on 23.2, (23 Weather Now) for the 2012-13 regular and postseason.
The partnership marks the first time in the IceHogs’ 14-year history that every game will be broadcast live on television. “23 Weather Now” is available to all Comcast Cable subscribers (Comcast Cable channel 436 in the Rockford market). Check local cable listings for “23 Weather Now” channel availability.
“This is a ground breaking partnership and we are excited to provide our fans with an opportunity to watch every IceHogs game, whether it’s at home or on the road,” said RAVE’s Executive Director Gordon Kaye. “We’ve had a great relationship with 23 WIFR for the past 13 years and this joint venture with AHL Live will give viewers unique, local programming on 23 Weather Now.”
All game feeds will be provided by AHL Live and will still be available, along with the radio broadcasts, online through AHLlive.com. Each broadcast will feature a 15-minute pregame show featuring an interview with IceHogs Head Coach Ted Dent, interactive intermission segments and a 10-minute postgame show recapping the game.
Mike Peck returns for his 11th season as the voice of the IceHogs and will provide play-by-play for all regular season and postseason contests on “23 Weather Now.”
The IceHogs kick off their 14th season of professional hockey in Rockford and sixth as the AHL affiliate of the
Chicago Blackhawks, on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Allstate Arena against the
Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. Rockford’s home opener is slated for Saturday, Oct. 20 at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m. against the
Charlotte Checkers.
