The
Louisiana IceGators of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that they have added D-Man Greg Brown to their roster for the 2012-13 season.
"I am very excited to be coming to Lafayette to join the IceGators for the upcoming season.” said Brown. “I have heard nothing but good things about the place and the organization and I am looking forward to getting started and building a championship team."
Brown would finish out his junior career in 2009 where in he would post 20 points and had 399 penalty minutes in 167 games. After attending Brock University for a season, Greg would take a year off before beginning his professional career in 2011. During this 2011-2012 he would play for the
Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL (46 games, 9pts, 118 PIM) and the
Allen Americans of the Central Hockey (8 games, 2pts, 8 PIM).
“Greg is a solid D-man who will give us depth. He plays big, physical and makes a very good first pass. He plays with heart, grease and grit and will answer the bell. He does all the little things you want in a d-man. He will bring great leadership and add depth to our d-core.” says
Kevin Kaminski.
