Cardiff Signs Devin DiDiomete
Quote:
TOUGH guy Devin Didiomete, a player seen as the successor to Brad Voth, has signed for Cardiff Devils.
Canadian Didiomete, 24, has built a huge reputation and is a player who will fight anybody when the time comes and can chip in with goals and assists.
"We are excited about this signing, he ticks all the boxes," says Devils head coach Gerad Adams. "He will stand up for team-mates, will fight anybody and won't back down.
"But he also has a lot of ability and will contribute to the team offensively."
Hard-man Voth retired last season after seven years with Cardiff Devils and Adams has scoured North America and Europe for the right man to take his place.
Winger Didiomete, an NHL draft pick by Calgary Flames in 2006, will operate on one of Cardiff's top two lines and will add an edge of steel to the team.
He picked up more than 300 penalty minutes in American League hockey playing for Hartford Wolf Pack in 2010-11 and played for Chicago Express in the East Coast League last season.
