JYP announced three new contracts today. Forwards
Joose Antonen and
Daniel Stumpf are mainly signed for JYP's Mestis affiliate JYP-Akatemia. Antonen is born 1995 and comes from Ilves' juniors and Stumpf, the 21 year old Slovakian comes from Russian MHL where he played for Yunost collecting 43 points (22+21) and 34 PIM in 54 games. He has also 39 games in the Slovakian Extraliga with 5 points (3+2). His contract is for 1+1+1 years.
And now, the most interesting player signed is Canadian/British power forward
Ramzi Abid who comes from Salzburg of Austrian EBEL. He is signed to a 1-year contract. Abid has played in NHL, AHL, QMJHL, SEL, KHL, NLA and EBEL. He more than 60 fights and has fought guys like
Brett Scheffelmaier,
Ryan Flinn,
Dave MacIsaac,
Shawn Thornton and
Josh Gratton.
