A DUI lawyer (not just any lawyer) is mandatory. A good one will comb through the police procedure and ferret out any omissions, taints and missteps that might get your case tossed or at least a substantially reduced sentence. There are so many ways for a cop to fuck up a DUI it's not funny. The fact that the cop let you slide on the Resisting Arrest/Interference charge indicates to me that this thing didn't go by the book, at the very least.
