ALLEN, Texas - The
Allen Americans announced on Friday, that defenseman
Trevor Ludwig has been signed to a contract for the upcoming season. Ludwig became the second D-man signed in as many days.
The native of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, is starting his second season with the Americans. Ludwig played in just 13 games with Allen in 2011-2012, due to AHL call-ups and a season-ending injury.
“I’m excited to be part of the
Allen Americans organization again,” said
Trevor Ludwig. “They made some positive changes in the front office and coaching staff that are big steps in the right direction. Mr. Miller has always wanted this to be as close to an NHL atmosphere as possible, and I know those additions will improve that image."
Ludwig has played in 140 games at the American Hockey League level, with stops at Texas, Norfolk, Manitoba and Iowa over his five-year pro career.
Trevor and his twin brother Tyler were teammates with the
Texas Tornado of the NAHL from 2002-2004, the
Texas Stars in 2009-2010, and the
Allen Americans in 2011-2012.
“It has been a long break from hockey for me due to my injury, so I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice and doing what I love to do. It’s a rare thing in hockey to be able to play with a family member, so it’s always a bonus to be able to skate on the ice with my twin brother,” said Ludwig.
