If the Luongo deal doesn't go through, I could see it happening. One possible option is signing Brodeur to a 2 year deal, have him and Theo split this year, then let Theo walk next summer and have Brodeur/Markstrom in 2013-2014. Brodeur would be a solid mentor for Markstrom.
