Being a Sabres fan, this is very difficult for me to type, but my vote goes to the
Boston Bruins. I certainly agree that the Rangers and Flyers are both solid candidates as well. However when talking of team toughness, and the makeup of the roster, Boston has the edge in my view. Boston has the likes of
Shawn Thornton,
Milan Lucic,
Adam McQuaid, and Greg Campbell as the primary fighters. The supporting cast features Horton, Chara, Ference, and Boychuk as players who are not afraid to mix it up.
The main thing that made up my mind about this is two of Boston's toughest players Chara and Lucic are both first line players. How many other teams have players of that caliber on the first line that are that tough? You know you are a tough team when one of your leading scorers can hold his own against any heavyweight in the league.
