I worked the penalty box one night the Wolves hosted the Moose, with Angelstad and
Jimmy Roy in tow. Roy got angry with me that I wouldn't move and let him open the door to scream at the ref. He sat down and screamed obscenties at me. Mel looked at me and winked, and then told Jimmy to settle down.
Mel never played for the Wolves, but he was one of the best.
