If Cotto gets the nod, I definitely see the fight at 150, or 151. Cotto isn't like most other fighters Manny gets, in that Cotto has a lot of "pull" himself when it comes to making demands or setting limits in fight negotiations. I see it being 150 or 151 based on their history. I wonder then, what happens to either's title if they lose? Does Manny get stripped of his alphabet 147 lb title? Or does Cotto release his 154? I'm sure those will be negotiating points, but it's something worth noting.
On the topic of alphabet titles, Sergio Martinez has had enough of the WBC and their bull****. The worlds best 160lb fighter has called it a day and released the WBC "diamond" belt and will exclusively defend the 160lb RING magazine title... which is really the only title that truly means something in these days of regular champs, diamond champs, super champs, aluminum champs and whatever other metals they use. I love it from Sergio. No more bending and bitching with the WBC to get HIS title back, it's now time to start defending the one belt that doesn't require him to pay astronomical sanctioning fees to be toyed with. This is a HUGE step in the right direction for getting rid of these alphabet organizations. Unfortunately, fighters want titles, and so do promoters... which means it's probably not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but only because I doubt anyone else follows suit in Sergio's foot steps.
