.......if a minor league middleweight goon had been on this particular team at the beginning of the season are you all suggesting that there would be a significant increase in goal scoring, a significant upgrade in goaltending and any team that owns a large, mean, skilled heavyweight would quail at the sight of Haley? I feel that there is an elephant in the room that Islander fans are yet to recognize. The same players that quit on Scott Gordon during a twenty plus losing streak are essentially the same players who are tanking now under Capuano. This to me is a character and leadership issue within the lockerroom. Make no mistake, the Islanders are not a talented team thanks to a dungpile known as
Mike Milbury but it appears as though this team is quitting. I've said it once and I'll say it again NO ONE wins them all. I don't give a fried rats ass how much mayhem and desolation a player can bring, it won't turn ****e into silver. Goons are amusing and they have their place but if you could wave a magic wand and put last seasons second half "great" Islander team into the Conference finals against the Bruins, even with Konopka, Haley, Gillies and Martin does anyone really believe that Boston wouldn't have won in four to five games? I feel your pain Islander fans but please temper your expectations toward a very limited player and the overall affect he will have on his teammates. Keep the faith. You are not to blame for your loyalty to your team. Your hope and support are to be admired and will be rewarded in the future. But not for a long time, I fear.
