Saw Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon last night - I liked it. Not as good as the first one, but much, much better than the second. No dumb ass twin 'bots in this one.
Yeah, the story was kinda goofy, the plot weird, acting suspect (esp the new chick, who mkaes Megan Fox look like an Oscar winner - yikes!), and it was well over 2 and a half hours - but the special effects was incredible and the action non-stop. Everytime a stunt or effect left my jaw dropped on the floor, the very next one exceeded it. The highway chase reminded me of the one from the second Matrix movie, the collapsing building, and the special forces guy in the wingsuits jumping out of falling airplanes were all incredible, and I thought Leonard Nimoy lending his voice to the Sentinel Prime character was cool - Spock and Peter Cullen have two of the most distinctive voices in sci-fi history, and it was cool seeing them go head-to-head like that. Megatron's semi-decrepit state throughout the movie was a neat touch.
Anyhow - it wasn't great, and some are going to hate it - its probably more of a "meh" movie, but the effects, stunts, and CGI was just too awesome - gets a "good" rating from me just for that. See this one in 3D, it is worth it!
Just be prepared for a long movie.....
