got sonic 4 episode 1 on wiishop yesterday.
tried it out a lil this morning... honestly dont care for the feel overall. its got the homing attack that was on some of the DS sonic games, and you have to be just right to be targeted on the baddies. and its slow for a sonic game. speed boots are the speed regular sonic should be. and the levels are more spring oriented rather than long lanes to pick up speed and start flying. and his initial acceleration is the sloooooooowest ever on a sonic game. also its a sonic game where going into ball while running slows you down rather than the little burst. and the pretty backgrounds and junk dont look that pretty, and are actually rather noisy.
all that being said, its still fun. its gonna be short as hell. 3 zones, 3 acts each, plus a boss each, then final boss... but it has bonus stages which will get replay value from me because i HAVE to beat sonic games with all the bonus stages. 15bucks is a little steep for what you get, but like tecmo bowl throwback and earthworm jim and such; ill gladly support retro/classic push.
im still gonna finish up mario world and all the hidden doors before i get completely into sonic. speaking of mario though, when i first loaded up sonic i kept holding down a button to run lol.
