GLENDALE, ARIZONA - The
Phoenix Coyotes defeated the
Florida Panthers 4-3 in a shootout last night to win their 44th game of the season, marking the highest single-season win total in Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets franchise history.
The previous franchise record for wins in a season was 43, set by the
Winnipeg Jets in 1984-85. Through 71 games this season, the Coyotes have compiled a record of 44-22-5.
Tonight’s victory was also the Coyotes’ seventh consecutive win, marking their longest winning streak since the 2006-07 season. Trailing 3-0 in the third period, the Coyotes scored three times in the third period to force overtime before winning in a shootout.
