Stars' Ott Suspended Two Games

The NHL has suspended Dallas Stars center Steve Ott for two games without pay for his hit Saturday night on St. Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo.

At 8:33 of the second period, Colaiacovo had just passed the puck out of his end when Ott low-bridged him, flipping the Blues defenseman into the air. He landed hard on his back. He left the game with what the Blues called an upper-body injury.

No penalty was assessed on the play.

Ott, who previously was suspended for one game Feb. 28, now is considered a repeat offender under terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Accordingly, Ott forfeits $36,585.36 in salary, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Ott will miss the Stars' two home games this week, Wednesday against Toronto and Friday against Florida. He will be eligible to return for Saturday's game in Nashville.
