LOS ANGELES – The
Los Angeles Kings have assigned forward
Kevin Westgarth to the
Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced Monday.
Westgarth, 25, has zero points and nine penalty minutes in nine games with the Kings during his rookie season. The 6-5, 241-pound native of Amherstburg, Ontario made his Kings/NHL debut on January 20 at Minnesota. Westgarth, who signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on March 16, 2007, has also skated in 55 games with the Monarchs this season, posting eight points (2-6=8) and a team-leading 146 penalty minutes.
