Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the signing of free agent forward
Curtis Glencross.
“Our philosophy going into the draft and through this period was to get younger, quicker and bigger on the wings,“ said Sutter.
“With the addition of Curtis, along with our recent signings (re-signings), I feel we will have really good competition among these good young wingers.”
Glencross, a native of Kindersley, AB, spent last season split between the
Columbus Blue Jackets and the
Edmonton Oilers registering 15 goals and 10 assists in 62 games.
Prior to his professional career, Glencross spent two seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League playing for the Brooks Bandits. Following his junior career, Glencross spent two seasons at the University of Alaska-Anchorage (WCHA), and was then signed as a free agent by the
Anaheim Ducks on March 25, 2004.
