But last time I checked the Oilers salary cap was sitting around 47-49 million bucks for next season. How the hell do they think they can can squeeze Hossa in without dumping some of their larger salaries?
Is anyone else hearing these Oiler/Hossa rumours from other sources? It just doesn't add up to me....
Apparently, the Oilers have offered an open contract...they'll match anything. Yes, it'll put them over the cap but so is Chicago (like $5 million over). They make the space.
