Fighters dont fear each other, plain and simple. McCarty didn't back down because he was afraid of taking a beating, it's not like the guy has never taken a beating in his career. How do you think the wings players would feel watching McCarty getting his ass kicked by Laraque? It's a momentum thing more than anything, no one is saying that McCarty would stand a chance at this point in his career, but I dont think fear had anything to do with it.
