Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed defenseman
Jonathon Blum (JAWN-ah-thuhn BLUHM) to an entry-level contract.
Blum, 18 (1/30/89), leads
Vancouver Giants defensemen and ranks among Western Hockey League blueliners with 39 points (9g-30a) in 35 games this season. The 6-0, 168-pound native of Long Beach, CA captured the Memorial Cup with the Giants last season and ranked seventh among WHL defensemen with 51 points (8g-43a) during the 2006-07 regular season.
Blum, who has been named to Team U.S.A. for the 2007 World Junior Championships, was Nashville’s first-round selection, 23rd overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
