OTTAWA - The
Ottawa Senators today assigned left-winger
Nick Foligno to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the
Binghamton Senators.
In his first 14 career NHL games with the Senators this season, Foligno had two goals, six penalty minutes and a +1 rating. The 19-year-old played his first NHL game against the
Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 3, and scored his first goal against Carey Price of the
Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 18.
Last season, Foligno finished second in team scoring with the Ontario Hockey League’s
Sudbury Wolves. He set career highs with 31 goals and 57 assists for 88 points as the Wolves captured the 2007 Eastern Conference championship.
Foligno was Ottawa’s first-round pick, 28th overall, in the 2006 NHL entry draft.
