Thornton had difficulty finding his footing but still managed to find a way to throw despite going lefty (which should have been advantage Gillies).

you know, in terms of effort, i would call this a 9. i don't know if i have ever seen such a high percentile of missed punches though. the air in boston is absolutely rocked right now from these two good scrappers. no damage done to either i'd reckon, calling it a 4 and a draw.

i agree with the great Butch Goring. even though Gillies won the fight he didn't help his team. all he did was get the Bruins back into the game. the crowd was dead and the Islanders had Momentum.
