ripper clocked him flush, ripper gave up size and took a few shots to deliver and it paid off.staubitz seems gutless throwing with his rock hard elbow pads,he aint got tough enough paws or what,he should be suspended for that cr5ap,hope he tries it against the boogieman.ripper decided later in the game that if brad cant scrap like a man and only throw elbows he needs to sucker him.paybacks a bitch.

Good draw. Rypien with the better shot, Staubitz was more in control.

Rypien got his ass handed to him by Staubitz then throws a baby fit in the tunnel by attacking a Wild fan ... total punk out by Rypien!

Staubitz with the win. Rypien did win against the 15 year old fan though. I thought he had more class than that.
Too bad, he'll get at least 10 games for that one.

that was a pretty goood one, you have to be splitting hairs to call it anything else but a draw. i wonder what the fan said to rypien?

I just think it's hilarious how some morons on this site are completely myopic (look up the definition cretins) in their hatred of Lucic and and their apparent desire to bl*w Rypien... people pleeez! Rypien is an excellent fighter and very entertaining but Dude does lose a percentage of his fights... AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM! Wipe Ryp's spooge outta your eyes and take a close look.. he got hammered a couple of times and taken down. He didn't get his ass kicked but he CLEARLY lost

Staubitz is good, but I've never seen rypien so poor defensively.....his key to beating up bigger guys is tying up their main throwing hand, and he missed the boat in this one....it's strange seeing a #24 in a wild jersey who ISN'T the boogeyman.

Rypien on cuts

I don't know why the discrepancy in the voting here. This was a very close fight and usually when that happens, the votes are split down the middle. Must be a lot of Rypien haters on here all of the sudden. Rypien was pushed off balance by Staubitz's lead hand which was holding onto his jersey. I like Staubitz but if he's going to continue throwing elbows, than I hope somebody smashes his face in because that's horsesh!t. If it was a one time thing, then I'd cut him some slack but this isn't the first time he's done it so it seems to becoming a bit of a pattern.

Also, for those of you who think that elbows and forearms are fine because it's a fight...you're fukking morons. This is a hockey fight not MMA. Is it ok for players to start throwing kicks and knees and sh!t too? Or maybe give a guy a double leg takedown and then turn it into a choke or an armbar? Fukk off and go watch the ultimate fighter. I love and partake in MMA but it belongs in the ring or the cage and not on the ice.

Although a cut doesn't necessarily determine who wins in a hockey fight, when the fight is this close as far as punches(not elbows and forearms) thrown and landed go, then the guy with the most damage done to him loses.

By the way, for those people who either weren't paying attention or who don't know what they're talking about, Rypien didn't go after the fan after this scrap. This fight was in the first period and he went after the fan in the second after an altercation near the benches.

NIce way to start the series

Staubitz looks like a clown with the throwing of elbows. Eventually, someone's going to punch a hole in his face as he misses with one of those elbow-pad shots

Looks like all the blind folks have come out to vote today.

Clear edge Rypien. Not many punches landed in this fight, but the major one was by Rypien that busted Staubitz open.

And the fan that taunted him in the second period is lucky he only had his jersey grabbed.

Oops, I forgot that there is a huge amount of Minnesota fans on this site. Guess this is one of the fun things to do when your city is so boring.

I'm sorry but I CANNOT vote for Staubitz when he pulls this MMA crap like he did against Tootoo. Enough of throwing elbows and forearms big boy! Man up and fight by the "code" of hockey -- with your fists. What's next? Eye gouging? Hair pulling? Knees? Geez!!!
