Give it to Gillies 100% regardless. Dude went off the ice bleeding, plus Trev landed more shots. Don't get me wrong the guy is tough, but Gillies is tougher. Definetly a fan favorite!!! I know there is more to come from Gillies!!!

Gillies schooled Carkner,, carkner landed a couple weak punches,, but gillies rocked him with a couple ear shots, , im pretty sure that blood was leaking from carkners brain.. carkner did not land a single good shot,, he's lucky gillies wasnt able to connect with on one or more two shots, we would of gotten the KO we were looking for,,

Paul Teutel sr. for the Islanders toe to toe with Matt Carkner, this is a draw all the way. Don`t let yourself fool by the blood people Teutel launched his helmet into Carkners side a couple of times, so this is no result of a punch whatsoever. At the end spinorama on the ice. Carkner and Teutel both landing about a handfull each everyting else was neck or shoulder contact.

Gillies didn't do anything until they were both to tired to throw anymore. Win Carkner.

pretty close fight. despite carkner's cut on his ear and the weak take-down (which was pretty much carkner losing balance), carkner still landed more quality punches. edge carkner.

You have to admit that it's really great to see Gillies in NHL. I really hope he'll be here full-time next year. Isles should wake up and see how very helpful he is to the team and keep him.
