Ward goes a little too far in shoving Cullen, and then stands there grinning at Walker with his ''glove-glue'' firmly attached.
What'd you expect?
The retalliation was, admittedly, disproportionate. and cheap...
but Ward had to know it was coming.
Game 7 Lucic-Walker would be interesting, but Chara-Walker would probably require the Canes facial-reconstruction surgeon.

I too normally like Walker but that was ugly, dumb, cheap, pointless, thoughtless, stupid, disprectful. I wouldn't go so far to say win for Ward, I'm calling it a draw and a 1 out of principal. That was ridiculous and I hope Walker doesn't play another playoff game for that one. And no I'm not a Bruins fan.

That wasn't a fight. That was a sucker-punch. That's being a chicken****.

How is this rated? You can't have a winner if there is no fight. Well, maybe you can, but I don't see it here. Walker with a cheap shot, and if I'm not mistaken this is not the first time he's done something like this.

I hope Ward recovers soon and I hope Walker gets the fight he wants in the next contest.

OK I like Scott Walker, but that was just bad....

Ward has a long history of elbows and cheap shots dating back to his early days. He did it again to an opponent (Matt Cullen) , and a teammate (Walker) jumped in and was ready to throw down. I'm thinking Ward was going to pull his usual "What me worry?" routine. Now it was cheap, as Walker dry gultched him for sure, and he deserved the fine. I'll say the 'Canes fired up the Bruins for the loss today.

I said draw and a 1 because it was a mugging not a fight.

serious!>? there was only a select few that could knock a guy down like that with no suckering or luck involved, and Walker isn't 1 of them

Walker's a punk. Gave it a 1 for cheapness.

Walker came to help his teammate Cullen, who had concussion problems in the past. Ward was ragdolling Cullen, so when Walker stepped in Ward tossed Cullen down. Walker grabbed Ward and drilled him. I am not an NHL level hockey player, but when I played, if someone grabbed me by the front of my sweater, it was go time. Even if I didn't want to fight, I figured I wasn't being given a choice. At the least one can grab the guy or try to move away. Just standing there with your arms down at your sides is just stupid. Ward saw it coming but chose to take it.

I'm neutral and I have no idea how you can vote for Scott Walker. First jumps in when the other 2 are mixing it up then drops the gloves and lands a cheap shot. At least he stopped once Ward dropped.

Would have been nice to see Lucic pair off with Walker.

If Carcillo was suspended for that crap with Talbot then Walker is definitely gone for the next game. If not, well, we already know the league hates Philly.

Penguins87:

Yes, I did watch every minute of the series. And to say the team is full of thugs and goons is hypocritical with Godard, Cooke, Kunitz, and Orpik (Orpike less than the others) on your team. Every team in the NHL has “thugs and goons” by your definition - they’re called the 4th line. Carcillo’s move was dirty/cheap/creative, but it was NOTHING compared to this shot by Walker. Carcillo suspended 1 game. Walker $2500 fine. That’s fair, right? Messaging sending in the Playoffs has been around forever. To say they’re going to eliminate is crap, but at least be consistent.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOvechkin.

Sucker punch pretty much sums it up.

Ward wasn't expecting it obviously but needs to protect himself also at the end of a 4-0 game.

That is one of the biggest problems with that rule- at the end of a regular season game you might see something like this but you don't expect it in a playoff game anymore but when it happens, it's nasty, like this.

Win Walker I guess, but cheap as hell.

I should add that I hate the way Ward plays and to be honest, he deserves to get punked but Walker is dumb for doing it then and it might cost the Canes big time.

Walker should get a suspension, third man in, cheap shot in the closing minutes. Cullen should fight his own fights, and Ward should be a warded a penalty shot. No, not like a shot on goal, break away status, I mean a free shot at Walker. Cheap shot for cheap shot. Sounds fair to me.....

Cheap shot by Walker. VERY cheap shot. That was just plain pathetic.
