Thornton, acting very captain-like, charges at Getzlaf straight off the opening face-off, and does enough to get the win.
It looked like all 3 forward pairings were going to go, as well.
Great playoff intensity.

Jabbin' Joe with the win here, a lot of spirit but not a lot of punches, seems like Thornton caught him with one decent left though. Not exactly Iggy/Lecavalier, but watching two stars go is always a hoot. Called it a 5.

Draw. Not much landed. Joe landed a little girly punch at the end, but that doesnt qualify for a W

Good fight and something that has been lacking in the playoffs for the Sharks. I hope the Sharks take a clue from this series for next season, and I never thought I'd say this, but I'm hoping the Ducks win the next series simply because they are playing Detriot.

Two most dominant centers in the NHL? That's debatable.

Joe wins the battle, Sharks lose the war, what a HUGE disappointment again.

Have been waiting this for quite long - Getzlaf being beat down!

Thornton with the edge, mainly for the left at the end that seemed to hurt Getzlaf a little. Otherwise, it was the 35lb bigger thornton trying to play rag doll.

Getz has never been afraid to fight.. (Randy C.) just really discourages it since his time on the ice is much more important than being in the box.

Two leaders going head to head. AWESOME! Thornton landed a few more than Getzlaf for the win but THIS IS PLAYOFF HOCKEY FOLKS!
